Acolytes
Students in the 3rd to 8th grade are invited to participate in the tradition of lighting the Christ candles during our worship. If you are interested in being an acolyte, please sign up in the narthex.
Nursery (The Play Place)
The church nursery is open for children through kindergarten, every Sunday from 9:00am to 12 noon. Children can be brought into the nursery at any time during the service. Older children are welcome to sit in church with our "kid's bags" which are found in the narthex.
For the safety of the children in our nursery, please abide by the guidelines of the nursery. It is important that parents know that the nursery is a safe place for their children.
Please show your support for our young families by volunteering to help our nursery care attendant. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the service when you are volunteering.

Healing Prayer Time
Everyone is welcome to
the Healing Prayer
Time, held on the first Wednesday of each month
at 11:15am to 11:45am in the sanctuary. This is a time when we meet to lift up ourselves, situations or other people for prayer and healing. It is sponsored by the Micah 6:8 group, as part of their emphasis on "walk humbly with your God".

family and neighbors to support one another in a special way. We heed
the message in Ephesians 6:18 to "Pray in the Spirit on all occasions
with all kinds of prayers and requests."
Welcoming Candle
We, at the Sparta UMC, would like to celebrate the birth of your baby and welcome him or her into the life of our church family. Please call the church office to give us the details and we will light a "welcoming candle" on the altar the week your little one is born. We want to celebrate with you and pray your sweet little bundle of joy into this world.
